Rules and Regulations

I-80 Lakeside Campground is privately owned and designed for enjoyment by the public. To protect the rights of all visitors, please observe the following Rules and Regulations which have been established for the entire campground area and lake. Rules and Regulations are subject to change at owners’ discretion. Rates are subject to change for holidays and/or special events.

All visitors and guests must accept the terms set forth in the I-80 Lakeside Campground WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY prior to admission to any portion of the property. This document is posted in the office.

DAY USE VISITORS may be on the property during office hours, and MUST register in the office.

DAY USE VISITORS under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. 

DAY USE VISITORS are not permitted in the campground areas, including the shower house. Day use access to the campground is limited to the South and East end of the campground.

GENERAL STORE/OFFICE is open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM during on-season months.

ENTRY to I-80 Lakeside Campground is permitted from the main entrance road on the west side of the store only. All visitors must register in the office. It is unlawful to enter the Recreation Area at any other point. Non-registered trespassers may be prosecuted.

VISITORS are allowed to visit customers in paid campsites, however if visitors wish to utilize the beach area for swimming or fishing, a DAY PASS FEE of $5.00 per visitor must be paid in the office. ALL VISITORS TO SITES ARE TO CHECK IN AT THE OFFICE. All visitors to I-80 Lakeside Campground use the lake and adjoining recreation area facilities at their own risk and liability. In granting permission to enter and use the area and facilities, the management is not responsible for injury, theft, loss or damage, and by entering the park, all visitors agree to hold the management harmless from any claim, demand or liability.

ALL VISITORS in the park area after dark must be registered as campers.

SPEED LIMIT throughout the Recreation Area is 10 mph.

OFF HIGHWAY VEHICLES (OHV’s), including but not limited to dirt bikes, ATV’s, golf carts, go-carts, and child-size vehicles, are not permitted to operate by guests. Street motorcycles are allowed to operate with the following restrictions: (1) Operation must remain ON ROAD at all times, (2) unmuffled or excessively loud exhausts are not allowed, and (3) operators must possess a valid motorcycle driver’s license and obey all speed limits. 

PARKING is permitted in designated areas only. No parking is allowed along the main road or in neighboring vacant sites. No more than two vehicles are allowed to be parked at each site. All additional vehicles are to be parked in overflow parking areas. All vehicles not parked in designated parking areas will be towed away at the owner’s expense.

Positively NO OPEN GROUND FIRES are permitted anywhere in the Recreation Area. Fires are permitted in the fire pits provided in the Campground and Picnic Area or in a personal metal container with the following conditions: the metal container has a bottom & sides tall enough to contain the fire. No fires on shoreline/beach except in designated areas. Fire pits must have a 10 ft. clearance of all vegetation around the container. Water or a shovel must be present near the fire and someone must be in attendance at all times. Any person who allows a camp fire to escape from the container is liable for any damages of property caused by the fire. This person may also be liable for the fire suppression, rescue, and emergency medical services costs incurred in fighting the fire. Any and all costs shall be charged against the person or persons who caused the fire, and payment of camping fees to I-80 Lakeside Campground does not, in any way, transfer this responsibility.

PETS are permitted, but must be kept on a physical/visible leash at all times, and controlled to the immediate camp or picnic site. Positively no pets are allowed on the sand beach or playground. Please clean up after your dog immediately, placing droppings in garbage cans. Failure to clean up after a pet will be grounds for being asked to leave. Vicious, aggressive, or unusually noisy dogs creating nuisance are subject to removal. Pets abandoned or left without persons in attendance may be turned over to County Animal Control. No horses or other livestock are permitted in the Recreation Area.

SWIMMING is permitted at your own risk. A marked swimming area is located at the beach to the South of the RV sites, and also along the South shoreline in the day use area. No lifeguards are provided. No dogs or glass containers are permitted on beach. 

HUNTING is prohibited throughout the Recreation Area. Positively no discharge of firearms, pellet or BB guns,or archery equipment, etc. It is prohibited to either verbally threaten that a WEAPON may be used, or to display a weapon of any kind in a threatening manner within the Recreation Area.

SELLING, advertising, and other commercial activities are prohibited except as authorized by the management.

NO CUTTING or removal of trees, plants, rocks, etc. It is illegal to DESTROY, DAMAGE or DEFACE any of the buildings or equipment in the Recreation Area.

DISPOSE OF ALL TRASH in dumpsters provided. Littering is an offense. Trash is not to be left in fire pits or in campsites upon checkout. A $20 clean up fee will be charged if trash is left on site or in fire pits. 

BEHAVIOR OFFENSIVE TO THE PUBLIC, including but not limited to drunkenness, use of narcotics, indulging in boisterous, loud, abusive, threatening or indecent conduct or speech is prohibited. Consumption of any alcoholic beverage by persons under 21 years of age is illegal and will result in a call to law enforcement.

RADIOS AND OTHER SOUND-PRODUCING EQUIPMENT may be operated from 8 am to 10 pm providing they are kept at low volume so as not to be heard in nearby camps or picnic sites. Car radios may not be operated in the park if they can be heard outside the car. Persons violating this noise regulation are subject to eviction. Decision of the management concerning acceptable noise levels shall be final.

ALCOHOL PERMITTED at I-80 Lakeside Campground to person’s 21 years of age or older. PUBLIC DRUNKENNESS and DISORDERLY BEHAVIOR will not be tolerated.  NO GLASS BOTTLES ALLOWED.

MANAGEMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY or to remove any person from the Recreation Area.

NO BOATS or any other type of WATERCRAFT, to include but not limited to paddle boards, paddle boats, kayaks, canoes, will be allowed on the lake except for boats owned or operated by I-80 Lakeside Campground.

RENTAL BOATS must be returned by the time designated. Overtime charges apply after designated return time. No rental boats are to operate at I-80 Lakeside Campground at night.

BOATING IS PERMITTED at your own risk and liability. Each boat or watercraft operator is responsible for damages or injury to rental boat or occupants, or to other boats, structures, or persons. Use of the beach and boats on the lake is at your own risk.  All vessels must have at least one life jacket for each person on board.  Any boaters/watercraft operators under the age of 13 must wear a USCG-approved type I, II, or III life jacket.

BOATS MUST KEEP AT LEAST 100 FEET  AWAY FROM SWIMMERS and from the marked SWIMMING AREAS.

ALL BOAT OPERATORS ARE WARNED that boating is a hazardous sport. Watch for rocks, obstructions, submerged islands, and objects on the entire lake surface. 

RECKLESS OR NEGLIGENT OPERATION of a boat is punishable by eviction, arrest, fine, or imprisonment.

CAMPING REGULATIONS:

Camping in ASSIGNED CAMPSITES in the campground-RV park is permitted only by parties registered in the particular campsite. All campers must display a current REGISTRATION RECEIPT upon request by management.

CAMPSITES MAY BE RESERVED in advance. Management reserves the right to change assigned campsites and to cancel reservations. Specific sites may be requested but are not guaranteed. Site number assigned on reservations are subject to change without notice. 

A $10 NON-REFUNDABLE RESERVATION DEPOSIT will be required at time of reservation, and will be credited to account at arrival. Deposits are not transferable to future stays or to other customers.

CANCELLATIONS made after 2:00 PM the day before check in will be charged the first night’s stay. 

ANY NO-CALL/NO-SHOWS will be charged the entire amount for the days reserved. 

FULL PAYMENT for the stay must be made at check-in.

NO REFUNDS after check-in, as all sales are final. Inclement weather/other circumstances will not warrant a refund.

CAMPING CHECK-IN TIME IS AFTER 2:00 PM. Early check in may be allowed for an Early Check In Fee of $5 if the assigned site is available and early check in has been approved in the office. If arriving after 7:00 PM Central Time, after-hours check in must be arranged through the office.

CAMPING CHECK-OUT TIME IS 12:00 PM. Campers may occupy their campsite past 12:00 only when arrangements have been made with the park office for a Late Checkout and the Late Checkout Fees have been paid. All Late Checkouts are to be approved in the office prior to 11:30 AM. Day Use Extension allows for use of the site until 5:00 PM. An additional night will need to be paid for if the camper has not vacated the site by 5:00 PM.

QUIET AFTER 10:00 pm and until 8:00 am. No generators, radios, TV, audio devices or loud or boisterous conduct is permitted 10:00 pm – 8:00 am. Persons violating noise regulations are subject to removal.

CAMPING RATES INCLUDE 1 vehicle, 2 adults, and 2 children. Campsite maximum is 2 vehicles and 6 people per site (see rates). PRIMITIVE CAMPING RATES include 2 adults and 2 children. Maximum two tents and 6 people per site at discretion of owners/management (see rates). Larger groups will need to reserve additional sites. Primitive camping maximum is 3 nights.

All camping parties must have a RESPONSIBLE ADULT (18 or older) in attendance. All campers under the age of 18 must be at their camp with a responsible adult after 10 PM.

WASTE AND SEWAGE DISCHARGE is permitted only in the SANITARY DISPOSAL STATION located near the main park exit (east of the office building) or in campsite sewer connections where provided. Trailers and recreation vehicles in campsites without sewer hookup connections must keep their drainpipe capped. 

DISPOSE OF ALL TRASH in dumpsters provided. Littering is an offense. Trash, including but not limited to cigarette butts and dog waste bags, is not to be left in fire pits or in campsites upon checkout. A $25 clean up fee will be charged if trash is left on site or in fire pits.

FISHING REGULATIONS:

FISHING IS PERMITTED THROUGHOUT THE LAKE. Those not registered in a campsite must purchase a Day Pass to fish.

FISHING LIMITS: All fishing is CATCH AND RELEASE ONLY to ensure quality fishing now and in years to come.

STORAGE: OUTDOOR AND ENCLOSED STORAGE of campers, trailers, and boats is available for a monthly fee. I-80 Lakeside Campground is not liable for theft or damages of any kind. Owners must be willing to move stored items upon request. Inquire about rates and availability.
